Staying safe and law-abiding when praying and performing wudu in Russia

Praying in the street, metro, markets, parks, train stations, or shopping-center walkways is strictly prohibited — it causes confusion and suspicion among local residents. Only pray in official mosques, prayer rooms, or at your own home (rented housing).

Before praying at your workplace, always check with your foreman or manager first. Prayer time shouldn't affect productivity or the work process.

After Friday prayer (Jumu'ah) ends, disperse quickly instead of gathering in groups near the mosque — this helps avoid drawing police attention.

Never keep audio, video, or text from unknown or questionable religious speakers on your phone (Telegram, YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp). Russia's list of banned extremist materials is very extensive.
