Russian law enforcement agencies are closely monitoring public statements and comments left by users in Telegram channels. If comments or messages are found to incite hatred or discrimination based on nationality, race, language, or other characteristics, the authors may be held legally accountable.
In 2026, judicial practice recorded cases of criminal proceedings initiated under paragraph "a" of part 2 of article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for comments in Telegram containing offensive and inappropriate language. These rules apply equally to all users, including migrants.
Due to these circumstances, the administration of Telegram channels is receiving requests from law enforcement agencies regarding the comments of certain users. For security purposes, the administration is providing users with the opportunity to delete their old comments.
If you wish to delete comments you have left previously, you can contact the channel administration via private messages. The administration will take measures to delete not only the original comment but also the replies to it and mutual exchanges. It is also possible to request a check of other suspicious comments left from your account.
