Investigative actions have been initiated in Naberezhnye Chelny regarding corruption schemes in the migration sector. An officer of the Russian Interior Ministry department is suspected of systematically accepting bribes from citizens of Central Asian countries. According to the investigation, between May 2025 and September 2026, over a period of one and a half years, the individual facilitated expedited processing of patents for foreigners and provided confidential information regarding migration registration.
Within the framework of this criminal case, in addition to the police officer, four individuals suspected of bribery were also detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. During the investigation, the activities of an organized group linked to representatives of the Uzbek diaspora were uncovered. One of the key participants of the group acted as a liaison with the police officer and handled money transfers.
It has been determined that the group is suspected of organizing the illegal stay in Russia for more than 100 Central Asian citizens. Forged documents, including fake employment contracts, were prepared to extend migration registration. These individuals were recruited for unofficial work at private construction sites.
As a result of the checks, it was revealed that none of these migrants were officially registered in the Federal Tax Service databases as employees of the respective enterprises. Law enforcement agencies are currently continuing their investigation into the matter.
