In Krasnodar, Colonel Aleksey Cheburakov, the former deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region, has been arrested. According to official reports, the high-ranking officer's arrest was carried out as part of criminal investigations into the illegal production of tobacco products.
Since last summer, law enforcement agencies have uncovered four underground factories and several warehouses in the region. As a result of the investigation, counterfeit products with a total value of 2.5 billion rubles have been seized.
It has been established that foreign citizens were primarily employed at these clandestine workshops. According to investigators, Colonel Aleksey Cheburakov was responsible within the internal affairs system for overseeing these foreign workers and coordinating their activities.
Currently, investigation and inquiry proceedings regarding this case are ongoing. This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of employment at illegal enterprises and the consequences thereof.
