In the Astrakhan region of Russia, a citizen of Uzbekistan wanted internationally was arrested as part of the "Illegal Migrant – 2026" operation. The individual, born in 2004, was stopped by law enforcement officers while attempting to leave the country through the "Karauzek" automobile checkpoint.
It has been revealed that a criminal case was initiated against this person under paragraph "a" of part 3 of Article 128 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (sexual intercourse with a person under sixteen years of age). In March, a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen against him in absentia, and he was placed on an international wanted list.
During the investigation, it was determined that the suspect was staying in Russia illegally. For several months, he had been working at a construction site in the Volgograd region. For violating migration rules, an administrative protocol was drawn up against him under part 1.1 of Article 18.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
Astrakhan police have notified the Coordination Department of Internal Affairs of the Andijan region regarding this case. Currently, the wanted person has been placed in a pre-trial detention center and is awaiting extradition to Uzbekistan.
