According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kurgan region, a 30-year-old foreign national is suspected of participating in the activities of an extremist organization. He has been charged under Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
According to the investigation, starting from September 2025, while serving time in a correctional facility in the Kurgan region, the individual promoted the ideology of an organization that has been declared extremist and banned by the Supreme Court of Russia. He is accused of promoting the rules and regulations of this organization, which are adopted within the criminal environment.
The illegal activities were uncovered by officers of the Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) of Russia. The suspect, who was released in late August, was apprehended by law enforcement officers, and a court has ordered him to be held in custody as a preventive measure.
Currently, investigative authorities are continuing their efforts to identify the organizers and other participants of this extremist organization. Law enforcement agencies are urging citizens who have information regarding extremism and terrorism to report it via hotlines.
