In the Moskovsky district of Saint Petersburg, a foreign citizen stopped by law enforcement officers on October 9, 2026, has been prosecuted. It was revealed that after violations of the rules of stay in the Russian Federation (Part 3 of Article 18.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) were identified, the individual offered a bribe in order to avoid administrative liability.
The citizen attempted to hide 20,000 rubles inside a printer located on the back seat of the patrol car. However, the inspector firmly refused to accept the bribe and immediately reported the incident to the relevant authorities.
According to the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city, a criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident on charges of attempted bribery (Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 3 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Currently, the issue of selecting a preventive measure for the detainee is being considered.
