The Vologda Regional Court found a 26-year-old foreign citizen guilty under Article 131 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to the court's decision, the man will serve 4 years in a general regime penal colony.
The incident took place at night on March 15 of this year. According to the investigation, the defendant intended to drive a 41-year-old woman to her destination in his car. Around 04:00, inside the vehicle stopped at the intersection of Yuzhnoye Shosse and Sheksninsky Prospekt, the man committed acts of violence against the passenger.
During the trial, the defendant did not admit his guilt, claiming that he only dropped off the passenger at her destination and that no crime had been committed. However, the victim's testimony was found credible by the court. According to the verdict, the convict is also required to pay the victim 100,000 rubles in compensation for moral damages.
