According to the Yaroslavl Region Interior Ministry, a 45-year-old resident of the Rostov district has been stripped of his Russian Federation citizenship. The individual had obtained his Russian passport 18 years ago.
The revocation of citizenship was based on a court verdict. The Dzerzhinsky District Court found him guilty under Part 2 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of illegal migration). He was sentenced to a suspended prison term.
Once the court verdict entered into legal force, in accordance with the requirements of Federal Law No. 138-FZ "On Citizenship of the Russian Federation" dated April 28, 2023, internal affairs agencies made the decision to revoke the individual's citizenship.
According to police data, in 2024, migration units issued 14 decisions to revoke citizenship on similar grounds. These cases are primarily related to the violation of obligations to comply with the Constitution and legislation of Russia, including the commission of crimes.
Authorities remind those who have obtained Russian citizenship that they are required to strictly adhere to the country's laws and that violations can lead to the revocation of citizenship.
