545 foreigners to be deported in Moscow: results of the 'Nelegal-2026' operation

Officers of the Interior Ministry Department for the South-Eastern Administrative District of Moscow have announced the results of the second stage of the comprehensive operational-preventive operation 'Nelegal-2026'. During the events, which took place from October 1 to October 10, 2026, compliance with the rules of stay and the procedure for carrying out labor activities by foreign citizens was checked.

During the reporting period, a total of over 2,380 violations were recorded. In particular, more than 1,300 administrative protocols were drawn up for violating the rules of stay in the Russian Federation (Article 18.8), and more than 150 protocols for illegal labor activities (Article 18.10). Additionally, more than 160 protocols were issued against employers who illegally hired foreign citizens.

As a result of the inspections, a decision on administrative expulsion (deportation) was made against 545 foreign citizens. Furthermore, entry into Russia was banned for more than 2,000 individuals. Law enforcement agencies identified 6 people who were wanted and initiated 49 criminal cases regarding the organization of illegal migration and fictitious registration.

Compliance with migration legislation, particularly working without appropriate permits and registering within established deadlines, is of great importance for migrants. Officials stated that control measures in the field of migration within the district will continue.
