1,340 migrants expelled from Nizhny Novgorod region

According to the Office of the Federal Bailiff Service for the Nizhny Novgorod region, 1,340 foreign nationals have been expelled from the Russian Federation since the beginning of 2026. It is noted that the majority of these individuals are citizens of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan.

Checks revealed that none of the expelled foreigners possessed the necessary documents granting them the right to legally reside and work in the Russian Federation. Following the identification of these violations, they were forcibly expelled from the country by court order.

Furthermore, over the past week, bailiffs escorted citizens of Algeria and Afghanistan to a state border crossing point. These individuals have been banned from entering the Russian Federation for a period of five years.

In addition, during raids conducted in the city of Shakhunya, 15 foreigners were found working at a local sawmill without being registered for migration purposes. Authorities are urging foreign nationals to comply with Russian legislation, specifically by obtaining all necessary documents for residence and employment in a timely manner.
