72 migrants stripped of Russian citizenship must leave the country

As a result of inspections conducted by the Russian Interior Ministry's department for the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, 72 foreign citizens had their Russian passports confiscated. The Russian citizenship of these individuals was revoked, and they were ordered to leave the country.

The largest group of those stripped of citizenship—34 people—lost their status due to violations of military registration rules. According to the law, individuals who have obtained Russian citizenship are required to register with the military commissariat within a specified period. Failure to comply with this requirement served as the basis for the revocation of citizenship.

Additionally, 28 people were stripped of their citizenship due to committing various crimes and having court convictions. Specifically, a 50-year-old man was convicted for organizing illegal migration and the fraudulent registration of foreigners. He had obtained his Russian passport in 2006.

In the remaining 4 cases, fraud was detected during the document submission process. Specifically, it was revealed that a 44-year-old woman had entered into a sham marriage with a Russian citizen, and a 37-year-old individual had concluded a fake employment contract with an entrepreneur. These individuals have now lost the right to work legally in Russia and must return to their home countries.
