According to the Main Directorate of the Russian Interior Ministry for the Krasnodar Territory, large-scale events were held in all districts of Sochi to check compliance with migration rules. As a result of the two-day raids, law enforcement agencies collected 59 administrative materials, and more than 200 people were brought to police stations.
During the inspections, 14 foreign citizens were held liable under Part 1.1 of Article 18.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (violation of the regime of stay in the Russian Federation). For this violation, the legislation provides for a fine and mandatory expulsion from the country.
According to official information, control measures to identify illegal migration are continuing. Migrants are advised to strictly monitor their documents and the rules for staying in Russia.
