In the city of Novosibirsk, a check of the address provided by an Uzbek citizen during the patent application process revealed that no one actually lived there. It turned out that a total of 38 foreign citizens had been registered at that address.
Due to the violation of Russian migration rules, the citizen was banned from entering the country. The migrant appealed the decision in court, citing the fact that he has a spouse who is a Russian citizen and that he has no criminal record.
However, the judicial authorities, including the Eighth Court of Cassation, upheld the decision. According to the court's conclusion, the citizen had intentionally provided false information. It was also emphasized that the presence of close relatives in Russia does not exempt one from the obligation to comply with migration rules.
This incident serves as an important reminder for migrants that fake registration at a place of residence can lead to serious restrictions regarding future entry into Russian territory.
