The second stage of the 'Illegal Migrant-2026' operational-preventive operation is ongoing in the Jewish Autonomous Oblast. In the city of Birobidzhan, officers from the Migration Department of the Russian Interior Ministry for the region discovered that three foreign nationals had been registered through fraudulent means.
Police investigations revealed that a 44-year-old local resident had registered three foreigners, who arrived from a Central Asian country for employment, at his home without any intention of providing them with actual accommodation. The homeowner admitted that he knew in advance that the foreigners would not be living at that address.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Article 322.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ('Fictitious registration of a foreign citizen or stateless person at a place of stay in the Russian Federation').
As a consequence of the violation, the legal status of the three foreign nationals will be revoked. Following this, they will be required to leave the territory of the Russian Federation.
