As a result of operational measures carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs officers in the city of Astrakhan, a foreign national born in 1989 was arrested. He is suspected of attempting to illegally sell narcotic substances on a large scale.
It was determined that the suspect had come to Astrakhan to meet an acquaintance. The acquaintance suggested that he get involved in drug trafficking. Having agreed to the proposal, the man began working as a courier, for which he was promised a payment of 22,000 rubles.
According to police information, the suspect obtained a batch of drugs consisting of 80 packages and managed to place 41 of them in hidden locations ('zakladki'). He carried the remaining portion with him. Law enforcement officers put an end to his criminal activities.
In connection with this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 228.1, Part 4, Clause 'g' and Article 30, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted illegal sale of narcotic substances on a large scale). Currently, investigative actions are underway, and a preventive measure in the form of detention has been chosen for the suspect.
