Uzbekistan citizen sentenced to 8 years in Moscow region for beating wife to death

A court in the Moscow region (Podmoskovye) has handed down a sentence to a citizen of Uzbekistan who brutally beat his wife, resulting in her death.

The Pushkinsky City Court found 32-year-old Jurabek Shukurov guilty under the relevant article of the Criminal Code.

According to investigation and court materials, the incident occurred in March 2026. Under the influence of alcohol, J. Shukurov inflicted severe bodily injuries on his wife during a domestic dispute. According to the forensic medical report, severe damage to vital organs, specifically the liver, led to the victim's death.

In an attempt to conceal the crime, the defendant dumped the victim's body at a household waste disposal site. The body was later discovered by municipal utility workers.

Court verdict and reclassification of the charge Initially, it was expected that a criminal case would be opened for murder (Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). However, the court ultimately reviewed the case under Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in death by negligence).

Based on this article, the Pushkinsky City Court sentenced Jurabek Shukurov to 8 years of imprisonment. The verdict is expected to enter into legal force, and the procedure for serving the sentence is to be determined.
