MOSCOW. A terrible tragedy occurred in one of the high-rise buildings on Sirenevy Boulevard in the Russian capital. Two foreign citizens, fearing a migration check, were involved in an accident while attempting to escape through the window of their apartment.
According to reports, the incident took place on Wednesday evening. Law enforcement officers knocked on the door of the apartment to check compliance with migration laws. The Indian citizens inside, fearing issues with their documents, attempted to climb down through the 9th-floor window instead of opening the door to the police. However, they lost their balance and fell from the height.
The 19-year-old citizen died at the scene due to severe injuries. The 22-year-old was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of a hospital in critical condition. Doctors are currently fighting for his life.
Currently, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and relevant law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation into the incident.
