In the Chelyabinsk region, Rahmatjon Amirov, who was sentenced to two years and three months in prison for bribing law enforcement officers, is seeking parole (early conditional release). He has made four unsuccessful attempts to date and filed a fifth petition with the court at the beginning of September.
According to court documents, the convict has been regularly filing for release since the end of 2025. However, the Kopeysk City Court and the Chelyabinsk Regional Court have either denied his petitions or discontinued their consideration. All of Amirov's appeals were upheld by the appellate court without changes.
As a reminder, Rahmatjon Amirov was arrested in April 2024 during inspections at the migration department of the Sosnovsky district. According to investigators, he and other individuals were involved in organizing the illegal acquisition of Russian citizenship. As part of this case, the head of the migration department, Galina Zemskova, inspector Artem Mizgin, and another citizen, Sayfullo Yusupov, were also held accountable.
The main defendant in the case, Galina Zemskova, was sentenced to eight years in prison in July 2026 and fined 1.6 million rubles. Other participants, including Rahmatjon Amirov and Artem Mizgin, were sent to a penal colony by court verdict in February 2025, and Sayfullo Yusupov in December of the same year.
