Migrant who used forged documents sentenced to 4 months in prison

In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a citizen of one of the neighboring countries has been sentenced by a court for using forged documents. The man, born in 1990, was detained by traffic police officers in June 2026 during a routine document check.

During the inspection, it was determined that the patent and the notification of migration registration presented by the man were forged. Following expert analysis, a criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (forgery, production, or sale of forged documents, state awards, stamps, seals, forms, or their use).

During the investigation, it was proven that the defendant had illegally acquired documents confirming his legal stay on the territory of Russia. After the case materials were submitted to the court, the man was sentenced to 4 months of imprisonment. He will serve his sentence in a settlement colony.

The Nizhny Novgorod regional police warn foreign citizens: the production or use of forged documents entails criminal liability in accordance with Russian legislation.
