Three children of Uzbek mothers in Russian prisons returned to their homeland

As a result of measures taken by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan, three minor children of citizens held in correctional facilities in the Republic of Mordovia and the Samara region of Russia have been returned to their homeland. Until now, these children had been staying in a children's home within the prison territory.

Before the repatriation process, diplomats studied the children's citizenship status, the presence of relatives in their homeland, and other legal issues. In cooperation with the competent authorities of Russia, the necessary documents were processed and the relevant procedures were carried out.

Accompanied by diplomats from the Consulate General and officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, the children were received and safely transported to Uzbekistan. This repatriation process was organized as part of ongoing systematic efforts.

According to official information, consular and legal measures to return children of Uzbek citizens remaining in children's homes attached to correctional facilities in Russia are continuing.
