Migrant in Russia trapped in debt due to 12 microloans: do not share personal data with strangers

A foreign citizen born in 1987 filed a report with the "Svobodnensky" department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. He stated that an unknown person had used his personal data to take out 12 microloans totaling 205,000 rubles.

During the police investigation, it was determined that the victim's 24-year-old acquaintance was involved in the crime. It turned out that the suspect had previously asked the victim for a loan. Lacking cash, the 39-year-old man agreed to the acquaintance's suggestion to take out a microloan of 10,000 rubles. However, the young man who helped with the registration process in the credit organization's app did not log out of the program and repeatedly used the victim's personal data.

The perpetrator has confessed to the crime. Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against him under clause "g" of part 3 of article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and he has been taken into custody.

Police officers urged migrants to be vigilant, reminding them not to share personal data, logins, or passwords for banking applications with strangers, and to carefully monitor all financial transactions carried out in their name.
