A local resident contacted the internal affairs bodies of the Leninsky district of Omsk, reporting that an unknown person had withdrawn 17,600 rubles from his lost credit card. As a result of operational measures, it was determined that a 36-year-old foreign national had committed these actions.
It turned out that the suspect found the bank card while walking around the city. Using the card, he purchased groceries, a backpack, a watch strap, perfume, wireless headphones, and a game controller. The man brought to the police station confessed to his guilt.
A criminal case for theft has been initiated regarding this incident. By court decision, the foreign national was taken into custody, and all items purchased were confiscated.
Experts urge migrants living in Russia to be aware of such situations. Using bank cards found on the street can lead to serious legal consequences, including criminal liability. Therefore, it is recommended not to take or use items belonging to others.
