In the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, officers of the Russian Interior Ministry have solved a property crime. A 44-year-old foreign worker employed at a shopping center is suspected of stealing a gold ring worth 15,350 rubles belonging to his colleague.
According to police reports, the suspect noticed the jewelry left unattended at the workplace and, taking advantage of the absence of others, put it in his pocket. Upon discovering the loss, the victim contacted law enforcement agencies. As a result of search operations, the stolen item was recovered and returned to its owner.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Part 1 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Theft"). Currently, a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place of residence and to maintain good behavior has been applied to the suspect.
