Why are Uzbek migrants in demand in the Russian labor market?

Russian lawyer Vladislav Shalaginov spoke about the advantages of hiring citizens of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan at a seminar for entrepreneurs. According to him, the approach of foreign workers to their professional activities is an important factor for employers.

Shalaginov emphasized that migrants from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan come to Russia mainly to support their families and earn an income. In the lawyer's opinion, this category of workers, having set clear goals for themselves, strives to increase labor productivity.

Statistical data confirm the high demand for foreign labor in the Russian market. In the first half of 2026, citizens of Uzbekistan received 761,000 work patents to work in Russia, and citizens of Tajikistan received 327,000.

The expert noted that family responsibility and the need for financial support cause migrants to take the work process seriously. These factors are seen by Russian employers as one of the main criteria when choosing specialists from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
