Enterprise in Russia fined for employing 11 migrants without permits

During an inspection conducted by the Interior Ministry of the Kursk region, a violation was discovered at a construction company involved in landscaping one of the local parks. It turned out that the organization had employed 11 foreign citizens without the necessary permits or patents.

Based on the inspection results, protocols were drawn up against the employer under Part 1 of Article 18.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. By court decision, the company was fined a total of 2 million 750 thousand rubles.

This incident serves as another reminder to migrants of the importance of monitoring the legality of their documents. Employers are required to check the validity period of a patent or permit when hiring foreign employees, and also to notify migration authorities within 3 working days from the date of conclusion or termination of an employment contract.

Furthermore, employers are required to check whether a foreign citizen is present in the registry of controlled persons via the official website of the Russian Interior Ministry before hiring them. Experts urge employers to strictly comply with legislative requirements when formalizing labor relations.
