Employment abroad: how will the operations of private agencies change?

As a result of the simplification of the licensing procedure for private employment agencies in Uzbekistan, their number has tripled over the last two years. The number of citizens who went to work abroad through these agencies has increased fivefold. Nevertheless, problems such as corruption and the deception of citizens have also been observed in the sector.

Starting next year, the task of sending citizens to work abroad will be fully delegated only to those private agencies deemed most reliable. In order to ensure transparency in the agencies' operations, a rating system will be maintained. A guaranteed job, protection of rights, and social security for the citizen will be set as the main criteria.

It is also envisaged that the agency will be paid an incentive of 1.5 million soums for each citizen placed in a high-income job. To prepare young people for the foreign labor market, the opportunity to use technical school facilities free of charge will be created.

According to the President's instructions, a draft resolution to take the activities of private employment agencies to a new level will be developed within one month. This activity will be re-evaluated as a social service, and measures will be taken to simplify the tax system.
