Starting October 1, a new stage of checks on documents and labor activities of foreign citizens begins in Russia. Law enforcement agencies are expected to intensify raids to monitor compliance with migration legislation.
Checks are planned primarily at construction sites, warehouses, markets, manufacturing enterprises, as well as in the delivery and passenger transport sectors. In addition, residential addresses of foreign citizens may also be subject to monitoring.
As part of the first stage of the previously conducted "Nelegal-2026" operation, 60.2 thousand violations were identified. As a result of these measures, 14.6 thousand foreign citizens were expelled and deported from the country, and 10.4 thousand employers were held accountable.
Uzbekistani migrants currently in Russia are advised to re-check their documents. In particular, special attention should be paid to migration registration, the duration of legal stay, employment contracts and the legality of employment, migration cards, and the absence of restrictions in the registry of controlled persons.
