4 migrants taken to police station in St. Petersburg for violations

On October 28, law enforcement agencies conducted an inspection at one of the construction sites located in the Petrodvortsovy District of St. Petersburg. Police officers checked the documents of 191 foreign citizens working on the construction of a residential complex on Budyonny Street.

During the inspection, the main focus was on compliance with migration legislation. As a result of the raid, 4 foreign citizens were taken to a local police station on suspicion of violating Article 18.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (violation of the rules of entry into the Russian Federation or the regime of stay in the country). These individuals may be held accountable for their violations and expelled from the country.

According to the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, such preventive measures are carried out on a systematic basis. It was announced that inspections aimed at identifying and preventing violations of migration legislation in the city will continue in the future.

No prohibited items were found during the raid on the construction site. Migrants are advised to always keep their documents in order and strictly comply with the requirements of the migration rules of the Russian Federation.
