Individuals violating migration laws identified in Saint Petersburg

Officers from the Main Directorate of the Russian Interior Ministry for Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region conducted another round of preventive raids across the city on August 11. The inspections primarily targeted construction sites and residential addresses of foreign nationals in the Kalininsky and Vyborgsky districts.

During the control measures carried out on Politekhnicheskaya and Kantemirovskaya streets, as well as the Vyborgskaya embankment, a total of 123 individuals were checked. It was determined that 119 of them were foreign citizens.

As a result of the inspections, 19 foreign nationals were found to have violated migration laws. These individuals were taken to local police stations, where reports were filed against them under Article 18.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.

The offenders have been held administratively liable. They are expected to face fines and potential deportation from the territory of the Russian Federation.
