In Bashkortostan, a foreign citizen was forced to sell an inherited land plot

In the Dyurtyulinsky District of Bashkortostan, a foreign citizen was forced by a court decision to sell a land plot inherited by him. This was reported by the press service of the republic's prosecutor's office.

It was determined that the individual had owned a land plot intended for agricultural purposes under property rights since 2014. The land was inherited from his father. However, according to Russian legislation, foreign citizens can only own agricultural land under lease rights.

As a result of the prosecutor's inspection, this situation was found to be a violation of the law. According to the law, if a foreign person owns such a type of land plot, they must alienate (sell) it within one year. Since the owner did not sell the land despite the expiration of the specified period, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit with the court.

The court fully satisfied the prosecutor's request. Now, the foreign citizen is forced to sell the land plot belonging to him through public auctions.
