In accordance with the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, foreign employees have the right, upon agreement with their employer, to take a day off to attend the school bell ceremony for their children. There are several legal ways to achieve this.
The first method is to schedule a part of your annual paid leave to coincide with September 1st. According to the law, leave can be divided into parts, provided that the main part is at least 14 days long. It is recommended to include this date in the vacation schedule or submit an application to the management.
The second option is to take time off in lieu of overtime work. If an employee has worked beyond the established hours, they can request an additional day off instead of monetary compensation. It is sufficient to submit a written request to the supervisor for this purpose. It should be noted that such days off are unpaid.
The third method is to take leave without pay. An employer is not obligated to grant such a day off, but many organizations are willing to accommodate employees, especially parents of first-graders. It is advisable to submit the application in advance.
Additionally, in some enterprises, September 1st may be declared a day off at the employer's initiative. To clarify whether such a benefit exists, it is recommended to review the company's internal documents or the collective bargaining agreement, as well as to consult with the employer.
