Proposal to increase migrant wages in the Urals

Andrey Vetluzhskikh, head of the Sverdlovsk Region Trade Union Federation, has expressed the need to increase wages for migrants. According to him, foreign workers should not be viewed as "cheap labor" compared to the local population.

The trade union leader emphasized that by involving migrants in trade unions, he is striving to ensure they receive "white" (official) salaries. This measure is aimed at preventing employers from saving money at the expense of foreign employees and balancing competition between them.

Andrey Vetluzhskikh noted that the system should function in such a way that hiring a local worker is no less profitable for an employer than hiring a foreign worker. The main goal of this initiative is to protect the rights of foreign workers and create equal conditions in the labor market.

This proposal is seen as a practical step aimed at increasing transparency in labor contracts between migrants and employers and strengthening guarantees of legal income.
