Illegal hostels located in one of the apartment buildings in Chelyabinsk have caused protests among local residents. Citizens complained via social media that a large number of foreigners are living in these apartments, which has led to a deterioration in sanitary conditions and an increase in utility bills for common housing services.
This situation has caught the attention of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin. According to the information center of the Investigative Committee, an investigation has been launched regarding these complaints. Currently, the Investigative Committee's department for the Chelyabinsk region is examining the situation.
Alexander Bastrykin instructed the acting head of the regional investigative department, Alexey Lyuzhin, to report on the circumstances identified during the investigation and its final results. During the investigation, the legality of the hostels and the living conditions will be analyzed.
For migrants living in Russia, this situation signifies the importance of complying with legal documents when choosing a place of residence. Living in illegally rented hostels or those that do not meet sanitary requirements can lead to legal problems and investigations.
