In the Susumansky District of the Magadan region, law enforcement officers conducted a preventive operation to monitor the gold mining sector. During the operation, a case of precious metal theft was uncovered.
Police officers detained a 30-year-old foreign national who worked as a motor operator at one of the mining sites. According to preliminary information, the individual stole concentrate containing 280 grams of industrial gold. The total damage is estimated to exceed 3.2 million rubles.
During searches of the suspect's vehicle and residence, the precious raw material, packed in plastic containers, was found and seized as evidence. The recovered metal has been sent for expert analysis.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 158, Part 4, Clause 'b' of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility, and investigative actions are ongoing.
