Man who incited street conflicts arrested in Magadan

In Magadan, law enforcement officers have arrested a man who incited street conflicts and attacked citizens. According to the Russian Interior Ministry's department for the city of Magadan, the suspect is a 49-year-old local resident.

The case came to light in early August after a foreign national was hospitalized with broken ribs. During the police investigation, it was determined that the injuries were inflicted on the grounds of ethnic hatred. During an operational raid conducted with the support of the Russian National Guard, gas canisters and other material evidence were found in the suspect's home and vehicle.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the individual was involved in at least three other attacks. Specifically, in February and April of this year, he used force against strangers on the street, including a woman and an elderly person. Most of the victims did not report the incidents to the internal affairs authorities at the time.

Criminal cases have been initiated under Articles 112 and 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and the suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility. Law enforcement agencies are currently checking his involvement in other similar crimes in the region.

The police are asking citizens who have suffered from the actions of this individual but have not yet contacted law enforcement to report it by calling 102.
