A new migration control point has started operating at Kazan Airport

A special point monitoring the compliance of foreign citizens with the rules of stay in the country has started operating at Kazan International Airport. As reported by the representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, Irina Volk, the main task of this unit is to identify individuals who have violated migration legislation.

A total of 12 such control points have been established across Russia. They are operating at airports in major cities such as Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Sochi, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, and Yekaterinburg. In the future, the Interior Ministry plans to open similar posts at railway stations, highways, and water transport checkpoints.

Furthermore, the introduction of a system for collecting biometric data of arriving foreigners is planned at Kazan Airport. Special fingerprint scanners will be used for this purpose. These measures are aimed at preventing the entry into Russian territory of individuals who have been expelled from the country or are on the wanted list.
