The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) of Russia has published a report on crime statistics for January-June 2026. According to the report, the number of crimes committed by foreign citizens and stateless persons within the country has decreased by 39.1 percent compared to the same period last year.
It is noted in the report that a total of 14,449 crimes were recorded in the first half of the current year, with 11,861 of those committed by citizens of CIS countries. The rate of crimes committed by CIS citizens has fallen by 41.2 percent compared to the previous year.
A decrease was also observed in the number of crimes committed against foreign citizens. Over the six-month period, 3,880 crimes were committed against foreign nationals and stateless persons, which is 18.2 percent less than in the corresponding period of 2025.
According to data from the Border Service of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia, the entry of Uzbek citizens into Russia for employment purposes has declined by 13.2 percent during the first six months of the year. Nevertheless, Uzbek citizens continue to hold the top position among foreigners arriving in Russia as a labor force.
