At the Bolshoye Savino airport in the Russian city of Perm, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) identified illegally imported livestock products. Over the past nine months of 2026, a total of 232.16 kilograms of meat, chicken, butter, and cheese products were confiscated and destroyed.
These cases were recorded during the inspection of 188 citizens arriving from Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. Specifically, in September, during a baggage check of one of the passengers, 1.22 kilograms of unlabeled lamb shashlik were found. Despite the product being intended for personal consumption, it was seized in accordance with the regulations.
Officials emphasize that the import of such products into Russian territory is prohibited to prevent the spread of infections common to animals and humans. All confiscated products were incinerated in the prescribed manner.
Migrants and passengers arriving from abroad are advised to comply with veterinary control rules during baggage inspections at airports. Attempts to transport unauthorized food products will result in their confiscation and destruction.
