The Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) has the authority to ban entry into the country for foreign citizens who may pose a health risk to others.
Foreign citizens are required to undergo a medical examination while processing the necessary documentation in Russia. If dangerous diseases are detected during the examination, the medical institution automatically sends this information to Rospotrebnadzor. Based on this data, the agency imposes an entry ban and requires the individual to leave Russian territory.
According to the list established by the Russian Ministry of Health, dangerous diseases that serve as grounds for an entry ban include tuberculosis, syphilis, leprosy, and HIV infection.
This procedure is carried out in accordance with Russian legislation. Migrants are advised to be aware of these rules during the medical examination process and to monitor their health status.
