A dispute between foreign nationals in Saint Petersburg has ended in a stabbing. According to the Main Directorate of the Russian Interior Ministry for Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, the incident occurred on August 15 at a residential building on Khimichesky Lane.
It was established that a disagreement arose in the kitchen between a 55-year-old man and his 36-year-old compatriot. The suspect, who was intoxicated, used a knife to inflict a chest wound on the victim. The victim sought medical attention independently and was hospitalized in serious condition.
Police officers apprehended the suspect a few hours after the incident near the scene. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder).
The investigative department of the Kirovsky District of the Investigative Committee of Russia is currently conducting investigative actions. The suspect has been charged, and the issue of selecting a preventive measure is being considered.
