Saint Petersburg police conducted a large-scale inspection at a construction site located at 103 Pulkovskoye Highway. During the raid, the documents of nearly 300 foreign citizens working at the site were checked.
The inspections were carried out at night, while the workers were resting. During the process, one worker attempted to climb onto the roof of a temporary shelter to avoid the inspection, but came down after a warning from a police officer.
Following the inspection, 5 foreign citizens who were found to have violated the rules of stay in Russia were taken to the police station. Currently, the court is considering the issue of deporting these individuals from the country.
It should be recalled that earlier, during similar raids in Kronstadt, 8 foreigners were identified for violating migration legislation. Furthermore, Saint Petersburg authorities are planning to introduce new restrictions prohibiting foreigners from working in sectors such as retail, gyms, and hair salons.
