The second stage of the federal comprehensive operational-preventive operation "Illegal Migrant – 2026" is being carried out on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan from October 1 to October 10, 2026. As part of the event, locations where foreign citizens congregate are being monitored across the republic, and their compliance with the rules of legal stay and labor activities is being checked.
Personnel from the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan, migration departments, criminal investigation and economic security services, as well as the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardiya), are participating in the operation. During the inspections, special attention is being paid to identifying the involvement of foreign citizens in crimes under Article 322 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Over the past period of the operation, more than 2,000 administrative violations have been identified and over 170 criminal cases have been initiated. Additionally, the movements of citizens listed in the registry of controlled persons are being systematically tracked using the "Safe City" system.
A financial and credit organization that provided services to foreign citizens included in the registry of controlled persons has also been held accountable. Migrants are urged to put their documents in order and strictly adhere to the requirements established by the legislation of the Russian Federation.
