During a government meeting, the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, issued instructions to ensure round-the-clock access to shelters for the population whenever an air raid alert is declared in the republic. This measure is being implemented to enhance public safety.
Inspections revealed deficiencies in the basements of 396 apartment buildings. Residents had complained about the poor condition of the shelters, a lack of information regarding their locations, and locked doors. Rustam Minnikhanov tasked management companies with bringing these spaces into order and informing the public.
Furthermore, the algorithm of actions to be taken in the event of a drone threat at industrial enterprises and organizations is being revised. The State Housing Inspectorate has been tasked with monitoring shelters in apartment buildings and ensuring their readiness.
It should be recalled that on August 10, an attack on the city of Nizhnekamsk resulted in injuries to many citizens, including citizens of Uzbekistan. Authorities are emphasizing the importance of not ignoring air raid sirens and moving to safe locations immediately.
