In the Voronezh Region, law enforcement officers have arrested two Central Asian nationals suspected of involvement in drug trafficking. During the inspection, one kilogram of methadone was discovered in their possession.
It was determined that the narcotics had been divided into 2,400 individual packages and prepared to be placed in hidden stashes. Relevant investigative actions are currently underway regarding this incident.
Under Russian law, severe penalties are established for crimes related to the illegal possession and sale of narcotic substances. Those found guilty in this case could face up to 15 years of imprisonment.
