Migrants with fake registration in Russia to be expelled from the country

A scheme involving the organization of illegal stay for foreign citizens has been uncovered in the Vsevolozhsky District of the Leningrad Region. According to the Main Directorate of the Russian Interior Ministry, three residents of the cities of Murino and Bugry had been fictitiously registering migrants at their addresses.

According to the police investigation, between 2014 and 2026, these individuals registered at least 15 foreign citizens at their place of residence. In return, they received 5,000 rubles per month from each migrant. During the inspection, it was determined that the foreigners did not actually reside at the specified addresses.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Part 2 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of illegal migration). A 49-year-old local resident and his two accomplices, aged 47 and 79, have been arrested as suspects.

Law enforcement agencies announced that all foreigners who used this scheme will be expelled from the territory of the Russian Federation. Investigative actions are currently underway regarding the criminal case, and other participants are being identified.
