In accordance with Order No. 322 of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs dated May 22, 2026, a new procedure for processing patents for foreign citizens will come into effect starting December 17, 2026. Until this date, the previous regulation No. 695 remains in force.
Under the new rules, a single maximum period for processing, re-issuing, and obtaining a duplicate patent has been set at 10 working days. Additionally, the maximum waiting time in line for submitting and receiving documents is limited to 15 minutes, which is intended to increase the speed of service.
It is now possible to submit documents for a patent via the "Gosuslugi" portal. Notifications regarding the status of the application, such as its readiness or rejection, will also be sent through this portal. It should be noted that according to the new regulation, obtaining a patent through multifunctional centers (MFC) is not provided for.
Migrants are advised to process their documents starting December 17 in accordance with these changes. The new procedure is aimed at digitizing the document submission process and reducing waiting times.
