Foreign citizens engaged in labor activities in the Russian Federation have the right to renew their patent after its expiration without leaving the country. According to the legislation, the number of patent renewals is not limited, but strict adherence to established rules is required in each case.
To extend the patent, a migrant must be legally present in Russia, have made timely payments for personal income tax (NDFL) for the previous period, and submit documents at least 10 working days before the patent expires. Additionally, the presence of an employer's petition and an employment contract is mandatory.
For the renewal process, it is necessary to provide an identity document, a migration card, a medical insurance policy, a certificate of Russian language and history, and receipts confirming tax payment. Documents are reviewed within 10 working days.
It should be kept in mind that patent renewal may be denied if the employer does not timely notify the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs about the start of the employee's labor activity or if there is no information in the database about the employee's work during the patent period. Missing the established deadlines also leads to the rejection of documents.
