List of restricted areas for foreigners reduced in Moscow Region

List of restricted areas for foreigners reduced in Moscow Region

The government of the Moscow Region has updated the list of territories requiring special permission for foreign citizens. According to the new resolution, four districts — Mytishchi, Solnechnogorsk, Podolsk, and Shchyolkovo — have been removed from the list that previously included six districts. Now, the special regime applies only to certain areas in the Odintsovo district and the city of Balashikha.

To visit these areas, foreign citizens and their host organizations must complete a preliminary approval process. The exact boundaries of the territories are defined based on geographic coordinates, which are specified in the documents attached to the government resolution. Migrants are advised to pay attention to these updated coordinates when planning their destinations.

At the same time, conveniences for transit traffic have been maintained. Foreign citizens can pass without obstacles along permitted routes via the M-1 "Belarus", M-7 "Volga", M-12 "Vostok", Nosovikhinskoye, and Ryazanskoye highways, as well as the Gorky railway line.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to notify the diplomatic missions and consular offices of foreign states about these changes. Foreign citizens are requested to check whether their destination falls within a special regime zone and to prepare the necessary documents in advance.
