139,000 migrants removed from registry for not using the 'Amina' app

New measures are being implemented in Russia as part of a pilot project involving the 'Amina' app, designed to manage the migration registration of foreign citizens. According to official data, more than 139,000 migrants have been removed from the migration registry for failing to regularly update their geolocation data within the app.

This system was developed to monitor the actual residential addresses of foreign nationals. Failure to comply with the app's usage requirements or lack of activity in the system is considered a violation of migration laws.

In addition to being removed from the registry, administrative protocols have been filed against 440 foreign citizens who violated the rules. This situation highlights the necessity for labor migrants from Uzbekistan currently in Russia to strictly adhere to the technical requirements of the application.

Experts advise migrants to check their app settings and ensure that geolocation data is being transmitted. Failure to do so carries the risk of removal from the migration registry and administrative liability, which could subsequently create obstacles to living and working legally in the country.
